On January 29th (Lunar New Year’s Day), an unexpected incident occurred at Lac Que fishing port in Phu Nghia commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province. A 7-seater car parked on the embankment suddenly slipped down into Haau River, causing a stir in the local community.
According to Phu Nghia commune leaders, the owner of the car is a man who lives in a different locality and had just returned to his hometown in Thien Thuy commune (now part of Phu Nghia after merging with Quynh Nga) to celebrate Tet with his family.

At the time of the incident, the driver was not inside the vehicle. The car was parked on a sloped embankment near Haau River. Due to a handbrake malfunction, the vehicle slipped down into the river and became submerged. Fortunately, no other vehicles or nearby residents were affected, preventing additional damage.
On the same day, the car owner hired a crane to retrieve the vehicle from the river. This event drew attention from many local residents and social media users.
This incident serves as a reminder to be cautious when parking cars, especially in areas with sloped terrain or near bodies of water. It also highlights the importance of thoroughly checking the safety components of a vehicle before leaving it unattended.
