This occasion not only serves as a reminder of the glorious past but also highlights the Party’s crucial role in shaping the future of the country.
From Historical Context to the Birth of the Party
The establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 3, 1930, marked a significant turning point in the struggle for national independence. Prior to this, under French colonial rule, the Vietnamese people had continuously risen up through various patriotic movements such as Cần Vương, Đông Du, and Duy Tân. However, these movements failed due to a lack of correct strategies and effective leadership.
In this context, young Nguyễn Tất Thành left the Nhà Rồng Wharf in 1911 in search of a path to save the nation. After visiting nearly 30 countries and hundreds of cities, he absorbed the finest elements of human civilization and discovered the light of Marxism-Leninism. This ideological foundation laid the groundwork for the formation of a pioneering revolutionary organization—the Communist Party of Vietnam.

August Revolution and the Founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam
Just 15 years after its founding, the Party successfully led the August Revolution in 1945, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. This was the first victory affirming the Party’s exceptional leadership in uniting the entire nation.
Resistance against French Colonialism and American Imperialism
Under the Party’s leadership, the Vietnamese people tenaciously resisted French colonialism, culminating in the辉煌胜利 at Điện Biên Phủ in 1954. Subsequently, during the resistance against the United States to save the country, the Party guided the nation towards reunification in 1975, fulfilling its historic mission.
The Renovation Process and International Integration
Starting from the 6th National Congress in 1986, the Party initiated a comprehensive renovation process. After nearly 40 years, Vietnam has become one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia, with a GDP of over $470 billion in 2024. The living standards of the people have significantly improved, with the poverty rate dropping sharply to 1.93%, compared to 60% in 1986.
