Significance and Importance of the Seminar
The seminar aimed to affirm the significant leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam throughout its 95-year history. It provided an opportunity not only to reflect on achievements but also to draw lessons and strengthen public trust in the Party. Additionally, it emphasized the task of countering erroneous viewpoints, safeguarding revolutionary ideals, and inspiring the aspiration for a prosperous and civilized nation.
The event took place both in person in Hanoi and online at multiple locations nationwide, including Regional Political Academies II, III, IV, and 63 provincial and city political schools. This demonstrates the comprehensive and widespread nature of the activity.
Role of Leadership in National Development
At the seminar, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee, and Head of the Central Propaganda Commission, Nguyễn Trọng Nghĩa, affirmed that the Vietnamese revolution’s practice has clearly demonstrated the Party’s wise leadership. All successive victories of the nation have been closely linked to the Party’s correct guidance and resilience.
He emphasized: “No other political force except the Communist Party of Vietnam possesses the intellect, experience, and credibility to lead the country through every difficulty and challenge.” In the rapidly changing global context, the Party must continue to innovate its thinking and enhance its leadership capabilities to advance towards the goal of “a wealthy people, a strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization.”
Strategic Directions for the Future
Professor Dr. Nguyễn Xuân Thắng, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, presented the keynote address. He stressed that to achieve strategic goals by 2030 and 2045, the Party needs to focus on aggressively modernizing development thinking, promoting innovation, and formulating groundbreaking policies.
Specifically, by 2030, Vietnam aims to become a developing country with modern industry and high-middle income. By 2045, on the centenary of the nation’s founding, Vietnam aspires to be a developed country with high income, following the socialist orientation. To achieve this, the Party must continue to consolidate internal strength, enhance unity, and remain steadfast in its ideals of national independence combined with socialism.
Key Issues Discussed
The seminar received over 90 presentations from scientists, sector leaders, and research experts. Opinions focused on three main areas:
- Development of Party Theory: Clarifying the path of the Vietnamese revolution through the integration of national independence with socialism.
- Leadership in Achieving Goals: Summarizing the Party’s leadership of the nation over the past 95 years, drawing lessons, and proposing solutions to build a stronger and more resilient Party.
- Forecasting and Future Orientation: Analyzing the impacts of international and domestic contexts to reaffirm the Party’s commitment to its goals and ideals in the new era.
Conclusion and Call to Action
This national scientific seminar is not only an occasion to recognize the glorious achievements of the Communist Party of Vietnam but also an opportunity for each cadre, party member, and citizen to continue contributing to the nation’s development. Let us unite, remain steadfast in our Party’s ideals, and work together to build a prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam in the future.
