On February 14, the Supreme People’s Court announced the appointment of a new Deputy Chief Justice for the High-Level People’s Court in Da Nang.
Mr. Tran Huy Duc, Chief Justice of Phu Yen Province’s People’s Court, has been transferred and appointed as Deputy Chief Justice of the High-Level People’s Court in Da Nang.

Mr. Tran Huy Duc, 50, is a senior judge with a doctorate in law and 27 years of experience in the court system, having held various positions. Mr. Duc previously served as the Chief Inspector of Da Nang City.
In 2021, while serving as Chief of Staff for the High-Level People’s Court in Da Nang, Mr. Duc was transferred and appointed as Chief Justice of Phu Yen Province’s People’s Court.
Currently, the High-Level People’s Court in Da Nang now has three Deputy Chief Justices but remains vacant in the Chief Justice position following Mr. Nguyen Van Buong’s retirement on December 1, 2024.
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Tien, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, noted that the High-Level People’s Court in Da Nang had faced numerous challenges, particularly leadership shortages.
However, thanks to support and encouragement from the Supreme People’s Court leadership, along with the determination of its staff, the court overcame these difficulties, stabilized operations, and continued fulfilling its assigned tasks successfully.
Regarding the High-Level People’s Court in Da Nang, recent reports indicate that the Investigative Agency of the Supreme People’s Procuracy has placed several officials and leaders under temporary detention, including Mr. Pham Viet Cuong, a Deputy Chief Justice.
