In early February, a cooking show produced by CCTV brought Yaoyao to the limelight. Wearing a puffy jacket adorned with flowers and a face smudged from playing outdoors, she introduced two signature dishes from her hometown in Guizhou Province.
Yaoyao not only captivated guests on the show but also charmed audiences watching on TV and social media platforms.
“She’s like a seasoned performer. Despite being only four years old, she brings a sense of relaxation to viewers,” one netizen commented.
Another viewer expressed admiration for Yaoyao, saying, “I wonder what she eats that makes her radiate happiness every day.”
Many viewers were drawn to Yaoyao’s innocence, describing her videos as “healing.”
Some celebrities in China, such as actress Sun Yi and singer Zhang Yixing, have also shown their admiration for Yaoyao. They met her in person and took photos together.

However, some people raised concerns about why Yaoyao’s parents haven’t sent her to kindergarten like other children her age.
“You let her play every day without worries, but do you care about her education? Are you just treating your daughter as a source of income?” one person questioned.
During a live stream, Yaoyao’s mother explained that their decision not to send her to kindergarten stemmed from distrust of rural preschools.
“We plan to buy a house in the city and will enroll Yaoyao in kindergarten there by the second half of 2025. We’ve already hired a private tutor to teach her some basic knowledge,” she said.
Despite these concerns, many Chinese netizens remain enchanted by Yaoyao’s videos.
“This little girl has healed my anxiety. She truly is an angel!” one viewer commented.
“I hope ‘our daughter’ grows up healthy and happy. I wish her image remains untainted by any misfortune,” another wrote.
