“Sea of People” at Ocean City for the K-pop Star’s Concert

For both days of the concert, Ocean City transformed into a “sea of people” from early afternoon. Tens of thousands of spectators, including many international fans, flocked to the central area to check in and take photos in outfits reflecting G-DRAGON’s distinctive style.

Despite the performance area spanning tens of hectares, all pathways, lawns, and stands were packed with people.

Before the show, on the giant LED screen, the organizers took a few minutes to send a humanitarian message to the Vietnamese people in flood-affected areas: “We hope life and emotional wounds heal soon. Wishing everyone peace and good health. Thank you to all those working hard to overcome the consequences.”

G-DRAGON appeared in a red, rose-covered suit with the song “Power.” The entirety of Ocean City seemed to shake as tens of thousands of people collectively chanted “Anh Long” – the affectionate nickname Vietnamese fans have for him. Tens of thousands of daisy lightsticks illuminated simultaneously, turning the seaside square into an “ocean of light.”

The leader of legendary K-pop group BIGBANG continued to lead the audience through “Home Sweet Home,” “Go,” and “One of a Kind” – anthems affirming his individuality and charisma.

As the familiar melodies of “Crayon” filled the air, fanchants surged like an auditory earthquake, and fireworks lit up the Ocean City sky in a moment of euphoria.

“This is the final stop on my world tour. Every time I return to Hanoi, I always find something very special. Welcome to my home,” G-DRAGON shared.

If the opening was ablaze with powerful red, the next segment revealed a different G-DRAGON – dreamy, introspective, and intimate. “Bonamana” and “Butterfly” transported the audience into a dreamlike space with silvery-white light bathing the stage. G-DRAGON sat on a silver Übermensch throne, telling stories through music.

The atmosphere exploded again with “I Love It,” “Who You,” and “Today.” G-DRAGON descended to the audience, waving, taking selfies, and smiling brightly. “Crooked” brought the entire crowd to their feet, with fanchants in unison.

G-DRAGON put down his mic, letting the “sea of people” sing for him, making it one of the most memorable moments of the night.

“I love you all. You are my FAM (the name of G-DRAGON’s fandom). Today, we are all on the first page of Übermensch history,” G-DRAGON said, amidst continuous cheers.

The entire stadium seemed to shake when G-DRAGON mentioned the BIGBANG reunion in 2026: “Next year is BIGBANG’s 20th anniversary,” he said, “and I hope you will be there with us.”

Following the explosive atmosphere was a series of familiar hits: “Heartbreaker,” “Take Me,” and “Too Bad.” At this point, G-DRAGON would beatbox, then spontaneously jam with an electric guitar, soaring with lasers sweeping across the stage.

His unique dance moves and masterful, transformative stage presence captivated the audience. Every gesture, glance, and word sent fanchants surging.

Immediately after, the stage transitioned to a poignant moment with a video recounting the journey from young Kwon Ji-yong to the icon G-DRAGON, along with the Übermensch message – “an entity living by its own will.”

The entire audience chanted his real name in unison, creating one of the most emotional moments of the show. A few minutes later, “Drama” played dramatically, both powerful and heartfelt, serving as a perfect conclusion to the main part of the performance.

For the Encore, G-DRAGON returned in a robe, stepping onto a daisy-themed car to circle the stands, singing “This Love,” “1 Year,” and “IBelongiiu.” The entire audience sang along, forming a surging “human tide.”

“Untitled, 2014” closed the show in a space hushed with emotion, a tribute from G-DRAGON to the thousands of fans who had joined him in creating a memorable night.

Vietnam was one of the few stops on the world tour to feature a send-off – a special privilege for VVIP ticket holders. G-DRAGON appeared radiant, waving and smiling warmly. Just a few brief minutes, but enough to bring the entire audience to an emotional climax.

Ocean City boasts a stage with a capacity for 60,000 spectators, an open landscape, and internationally standard sound and lighting systems. For top artists like G-DRAGON, it’s a “creative paradise” where they can freely bring all their stage ideas to life.

More than just a concert venue, Ocean City is an integrated entertainment city model, where audiences can watch performances, travel, shop, and enjoy culture in a seamless environment.

To bring this grand concert to Vietnamese audiences, 8WONDER played a strategic bridging role in securing G-DRAGON’s approval, while V-Spirit – a new member company of the Vingroup culture pillar – took on the role of organizing and operating the entire event.

Despite having to overcome a series of stringent international standards and unfavorable weather conditions with continuous rain throughout the past week, V-Spirit ensured smooth operations and delivered a world-tour standard experience, leaving a strong impression on both domestic and international audiences.

G-DRAGON 2025 WORLD TOUR [Übermensch] IN HANOI, presented by VPBank, is not just a concert, but a starting point for Vietnam’s journey to become a hub for global cultural and entertainment events.

From Vingroup’s international-class vision and organizational capacity, Vietnam is gradually shaping a new position – not only embracing global excellence but also actively creating values for the world to seek out.

Vingroup recently announced the establishment of a new Culture pillar, with three companies undertaking strategic tasks within the cultural and artistic ecosystem: V-Culture Talents Vietnam Cultural and Artistic Talent Development Joint Stock Company, V-Film Cinema Development Joint Stock Company, and V-Spirit Event Organization Joint Stock Company.

The three key objectives of the new pillar are to preserve the nation’s traditional cultural values; promote creativity and development of art forms; and contribute to creating a new playground where artists can develop their talents, contribute to art, live by their profession, and receive due recognition.

With this new pillar from Vingroup, Vietnamese audiences can continue to enjoy more peak performances like G-DRAGON 2025 WORLD TOUR [Übermensch] in the future.
