Newly Appointed Director Requests Early Retirement Amid Leadership Transition

On February 15, Mr. Lê Nguyên Hồng, Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs of Quảng Trị Province, confirmed that he had submitted a voluntary retirement request, which was approved by higher authorities.

Prior to Mr. Hồng’s retirement request, the Standing Committee of the Quảng Trị Provincial Party Committee had planned to assign him as the Director of the newly formed Department of Ethnicity and Religion (following the merger of the Ethnic Affairs Committee and the Religious Affairs Committee).

Mr. Hồng stated that while he was willing to accept any assignments given by the organization, he decided to retire early to facilitate organizational restructuring and create opportunities for younger, more suitable candidates.

It is reported that the Quảng Trị Provincial People’s Committee has submitted a proposal to the Provincial People’s Council to relieve Mr. Lê Nguyên Hồng from his position as a member of the Provincial People’s Committee for the 2021-2026 term, following his request to step down.

In addition to Mr. Lê Nguyên Hồng, other officials in Quảng Trị, including Ms. Hồ Thị Lệ Hà, Head of the Ethnic Affairs Committee, and Mr. Nguyễn Văn Tường, Director of the Department of Information and Communications, have also been proposed for removal from their roles as members of the Provincial People’s Committee for the 2021-2026 term after requesting early retirement.
