More than 65 years ago, on November 28, 1959, President Hồ Chí Minh wrote the article “Tết Tree Planting,” published in the Nhân Dân newspaper, calling on everyone, every household, and every organization to actively participate in planting and caring for trees. He highlighted the immense significance and practical benefits of tree planting and reforestation.

Since then, the “Tết Tree Planting” tradition following President Hồ Chí Minh’s teachings has brought significant benefits to the nation and become a cherished tradition during every Lunar New Year celebration.

Tree planting and reforestation have played a crucial role in proactively preventing natural disasters, regulating the climate, improving the ecological environment, beautifying nature, fostering socio-economic development, and enhancing the material and spiritual lives of the people.

This philosophy also continues and promotes the timeless values of living in harmony with nature and protecting the environment, as exemplified by Emperor Phật Hoàng Trần Nhân Tông’s lifelong dedication.
