My Father, the One Who Stayed tells the story of a family with two fathers raising three children who are not biologically related to them, brought together by fate to form a unique household.

The two fathers are portrayed by Meritorious Artists Bùi Như Lai and Thái Sơn, alongside three young actors: Ngọc Huyền, Trần Nghĩa, and Thái Vũ, who play the roles of the three children. The storyline follows the characters from childhood through their journey into adulthood. The film also features performances by Thu Quỳnh, Lương Thu Trang, Meritorious Artist Kiều Anh, Minh Tiệp, and Trung “Ruồi.”
