On February 16, a local leader of Long Điền Tây Commune (Đông Hải District, Bạc Liêu Province) announced that the commune had extended condolences and mobilized community support to help the family arrange the funeral for T.C.P., a 5-year-old boy who tragically drowned.
According to local authorities, P. usually lived with his grandmother. On the morning of February 14, P. went to play at a neighbor’s house nearby but did not return. When the family could not find him, they immediately reported the disappearance to local authorities for assistance.
The case quickly gained attention on social media, with various rumors suggesting an unusual disappearance.
At around 7 p.m. on February 15, local residents discovered P.’s body floating in a shrimp pond approximately 1 kilometer from his home.
