Kim Sae Ron was found dead at her home in Seoul, South Korea, on the afternoon of December 16.
The police reported no signs of criminal activity related to the actress’s death. No suicide note was found at the scene. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
A friend of the actress told Xports News: “Kim Sae Ron lived alone in an apartment in Seongdong District, Seoul, while her family resided in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Her younger sister occasionally traveled between their parents’ home and Kim Sae Ron’s residence.”

According to Korean media, Kim Sae Ron reportedly grew up in a single-parent household led by her mother. She was the eldest of three sisters. The actress entered the entertainment industry at a young age to financially support her family.
Kim Sae Ron landed her first acting role at just nine years old. She once opened up about her difficult past, including being bullied in school and enduring feelings of loneliness.
Her mother also battled depression, which reportedly had a significant impact on Kim Sae Ron’s life and mental well-being. Before her passing, Kim Sae Ron underwent psychological treatment.
The backlash and broadcasting ban following a serious traffic accident in recent years also took a toll on her mental health.
A person close to Kim Sae Ron told Edaily that she had recently changed her name to Kim Ah Im, was preparing to open a café, and planned to return to the entertainment industry in 2025. Upon hearing the sudden news of her death, this individual was deeply shocked.
Before her passing, Kim Sae Ron appeared in the film Guitar Man in November 2024. The project is currently in post-production and does not yet have an official release date.
