On February 17, Mr. Châu Việt Tha, Director of the Can Tho Department of Home Affairs, announced that 269 public officials and employees had been granted early retirement by their direct managing authorities based on their requests.

Additionally, according to Mr. Tha, 34 officials from districts and towns have applied for retirement, including 21 heads of specialized divisions, 10 specialists, and 3 contract workers. At public institutions under various departments, 65 people have requested to retire.
“The specific support level for officials retiring early has not yet been finalized, but the guiding principle is that the minimum support must align with policies previously issued regarding the merging of wards,” emphasized the leader of the Can Tho Department of Home Affairs.
In addition to applying nationwide policies for those seeking early retirement, he stated that the Can Tho People’s Committee is developing a separate policy to assist those affected during organizational restructuring.
