On the morning of February 17, a leader from the People’s Committee of Tan Lap Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak, confirmed to Dân trí reporters that local police are investigating allegations involving a 9-month-old girl with bruised cheeks currently receiving hospital treatment. The bruises are suspected to have occurred at an informal daycare facility.
“The ward received this information through social media, and no one has formally reported it to the local authorities yet. This daycare is unregistered; local residents have been informally taking in children for care,” the representative from Tan Lap Ward shared.

On the evening of February 16, social media platform Facebook saw widespread sharing of posts and images of a 9-month-old girl with bruises on both cheeks, allegedly hit by a caregiver, accompanied by pleas for authorities to intervene. The post quickly gained significant attention online.
Mr. Đ.V.N. (38, residing in Krông Bông District) confirmed he was the one who posted the information on his personal page out of frustration. Mr. N., a single father, had entrusted his 9-month-old daughter to an informal daycare on Tran Quy Cap Street, Buon Ma Thuot City, while he worked.

According to Mr. N., on the afternoon of February 14, when he picked up his daughter, he noticed bruising on both cheeks. He contacted the caregiver, who denied any wrongdoing. Later, as the child developed a high fever and began vomiting, he rushed her to the hospital for treatment.
“I spoke with the caregiver, and they claimed my daughter was playing and fell face-first into a toy. But looking at the bruises, I don’t believe that explanation,” Mr. N. stated firmly.
At present, law enforcement officers have visited the hospital to speak with Mr. N. and gather more details to clarify the situation as soon as possible.
