On the morning of November 19, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Court tried defendants Le Tuan Linh (Director of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company), Nguyen Thi Thai Hang (Hang Du Muc, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company), Le Thanh Cong (Board Member of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company), Pham Quang Linh (Quang Linh Vlogs), and Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien (Miss Grand International 2021) for customer deception.

Approximately 6 months after being prosecuted and detained, this morning, Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien and her accomplices were escorted to the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Court to be tried for “customer deception.”

During the investigation, Thuy Tien, Quang Linh, along with their accomplices and related individuals, voluntarily submitted 9.7 billion VND to remedy the consequences (of which Thuy Tien contributed 3.2 billion VND).

All 5 defendants were prosecuted under point d (profiting illicitly from 50 million VND or more), clause 2, Article 198 of the 2015 Criminal Code, facing fines from 100 million to 500 million VND or imprisonment from 1 to 5 years.
At exactly 7 AM, police cars escorted the defendants to the court.
Security checks were conducted before entering the trial. Authorities also froze 6 accounts totaling 2.6 billion VND belonging to Nguyen Thi Thai Hang, Le Thanh Cong, Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, and Le Tuan Linh to facilitate compensation.

Before the trial, many people gathered outside the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Court to follow the case.
Security forces were on duty from early morning outside the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Court to maintain order.
At the trial, security in the area was tightened in multiple layers, and control measures inside were meticulously prepared.
