Patient suspected of food poisoning after eating bread from Hong Van establishment
As of December 13, Phuc Hung Private General Hospital has admitted and treated 25 patients suspected of food poisoning from eating bread. Most patients are in good condition, with only one 73-year-old man experiencing severe symptoms due to acute kidney failure.
According to the Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Health, approximately 50 people have been suspected of food poisoning from consuming bread from the Hong Van establishment. This establishment has numerous branches throughout Quang Ngai province.
The Department has requested the Hong Van bread establishment to temporarily cease operations for inspection and food sample collection to determine the cause of the poisoning. It will take approximately one week to get accurate results from the patient and food sample tests.
The Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Health also urged the People’s Committees of communes and wards to intensify inspections of bread production and business establishments in the area to prevent potential outbreaks of food poisoning.
