The General Secretary praised the success of Warburg Pincus’ investment projects in Vietnam, which have contributed to Vietnam’s development and expanded economic, investment, and trade cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, General Secretary Tô Lâm stated that the Vietnamese Party and State are very concerned about and create favorable conditions for foreign businesses, including American businesses, to invest in Vietnam for effective and sustainable operations, in compliance with Vietnamese law.

He also requested the fund to maintain and increase investment in ongoing projects, and to expand into areas where American businesses excel and Vietnam has needs, such as high technology, new energy, and digital infrastructure.

The General Secretary thanked the fund and American businesses for their support of Vietnam in addressing trade issues between the two countries. Vietnam and the US are complementary economies, the General Secretary stated.

He also noted that Deputy Prime Minister Hồ Đức Phớc’s recent visit to the US as the General Secretary’s special envoy has yielded promising initial results for bilateral trade negotiations.

The General Secretary requested that Mr. Jeffrey Perlman and American businesses investing and operating in Vietnam continue their support and voice their opinions to expedite bilateral negotiations, contributing to the development of stable and sustainable economic, trade, and investment cooperation, serving the interests of both countries’ people and businesses.

During the meeting, Mr. Jeffrey Perlman affirmed that, with the positive results of over a decade of doing business in Vietnam, the fund aims to continue long-term investment, bringing about positive changes in Vietnam.

According to Mr. Jeffrey Perlman, the success of the fund’s projects in Vietnam, including the Hồ Tràm project in Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu and the Metropole Hotel project in Hanoi, will be symbols of success in cooperation between the two countries and of foreign investment in Vietnam, thus attracting more potential investors.

Mr. Jeffrey Perlman stated that he and the fund’s leadership will continue to support and advise Vietnamese ministries and agencies on tariff solutions that benefit the people and businesses of both countries, for the stable, sustainable, and effective development of Vietnam-US relations.
