Ho Chi Minh City is actively preparing for the 50th Anniversary of National Reunification with a spectacular fireworks display. Necessary measures are being implemented to ensure safety and minimize impact on residents.

Careful Preparations for the Important Anniversary

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has issued a directive to relevant departments and agencies to implement tasks related to this grand fireworks display. Specific actions include removing obstructions and timely notifications to residents to maximize safety.

  • Removing Obstacles: The Department of Transportation will remove traffic barriers on Ton Duc Thang Street, from the RuNam shop to the left side of the Majestic Hotel. The Department of Culture and Sports will remove decorative banners.
  • Notification and Public Awareness: The Department of Culture and Sports will notify and inform organizations and individuals to avoid using bright lights (high-power lamps, lasers) directed at the fireworks area.
  • Public Recommendations: Ho Chi Minh City recommends that organizations, businesses, and residents within a 2km radius keep their windows open to reduce the impact of shockwaves from the real-shell fireworks. This is crucial to protect property and people’s health.

Transportation and Deployment of the Spectacular Fireworks

The 96th Regiment successfully transported 15 105mm cannons to Bach Dang Wharf. The cannon deployment is complete and ready for the anniversary celebrations.

Each cannon, weighing approximately 4 tons, was transported from Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh City. Deploying the cannons requires the close coordination of 6 soldiers to move each one. The fireworks team comprises 233 officers and soldiers from the 96th Regiment, along with approximately 90 meters of barriers and mats.

Fireworks Display Schedule

As planned, during the 50th Anniversary of National Reunification, the fireworks team will use 18 105mm cannons (15 primary, 3 backup) to celebrate the event. The program includes firing 21 salutes on the background of the National Flag of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Important Notes for Residents

To avoid affecting the training, preliminary review, general rehearsal, and official tasks of the fireworks team, residents should limit the use of loud sound within the affected area.

Conclusion

The 50th Anniversary of National Reunification promises to be a momentous occasion with a spectacular fireworks display. With meticulous preparations and specific recommendations, Ho Chi Minh City aims to create a safe and impressive celebration for residents.
