Two women were caught on video seemingly disregarding safety protocols by posing for photos on a railway track as a train approached. The incident, which quickly spread on social media, sparked widespread outrage and criticism.

The Incident:

Footage shows two women, one in a jacket and the other in a black dress, posing for photos on the train tracks. Critically, as the train, just 10 meters away, rapidly approached, the woman in the black dress remained on the tracks while the woman in the jacket attempted to cross. The train’s horn blared repeatedly, yet the women ignored the warnings, continuing to pose. The woman in the black dress only jumped off the tracks when the train was very close.

Public Outrage:

The incident provoked a strong public response. The women’s disregard for their own safety and the safety of other passengers, and the potential damage to the railway company, sparked criticism. The incident raises questions about the awareness and disregard for rail safety rules by some members of the public.

Details of the Incident:

The incident occurred around 5:20 PM on March 12th at KM54 on the Huong Lai – Vinh Yen section (Vinh Phuc). The train involved was train number 3206. Fortunately, no injuries or property damage resulted. However, the incident clearly highlights the lack of awareness regarding rail safety among the two women.

Relevant Laws:

According to Article 49, Section 1 of Decree 100/2019, walking, standing, sitting, or any other action on a railway track (except for railway employees and authorized personnel) is punishable by a fine ranging from 300,000 to 500,000 VND. Railway tracks are hazardous areas; unauthorized entry can cause serious accidents. Violations could lead to civil or criminal liability if accidents or property damage occur. Article 47, Section 1 of Decree 100/2019 also stipulates penalties for crossing railway gates while the lights are red.

Response from Authorities:

The Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) has instructed relevant authorities to investigate the incident, identify the two women, and take appropriate action to prevent similar incidents in the future, ensuring rail safety.

Conclusion:

This incident serves as a crucial warning about public safety awareness. Disregarding one’s own safety and the safety of others is highly condemnable. Authorities should intensify their efforts to educate the public about rail safety to raise awareness among citizens.
