Serious Violations by FLC Vĩnh Phúc Project
The inspection concluded that the Vĩnh Thịnh Multi-Purpose Cultural Complex and FLC Vĩnh Phúc Conference Center have built structures on the Red River bank without obtaining necessary flood discharge and dam safety assessments. This constitutes a severe breach of the Dam Law.
This isn’t the first time the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has urged Vĩnh Phúc to address violations by the FLC project. Since 2017, the Ministry has repeatedly requested inspections, reviews, and corrective actions, but has not received complete reports. Similar requests were sent in 2021 and 2022, emphasizing the serious nature of the violations and the need for timely preventative measures.
Strict Action Required
The Ministry’s directive requires the Vĩnh Phúc Provincial People’s Committee to submit a report on the remedial action taken by May 30th. Furthermore, if any signs of criminal violations are detected, the case must be referred to the investigative authorities for appropriate action.
FLC Vĩnh Phúc Project Overview
The FLC Vĩnh Phúc project is an integrated resort complex and international conference center, capable of accommodating 2,000 guests. It was inaugurated in December 2021. The project is located on the Red River bank in Vĩnh Tường District, Vĩnh Phúc Province.
