The search for the missing driver intensified throughout the night of May 10, 2025, involving multiple teams in Bình Dương. Aerial drones were deployed on May 11 to aid in the search.

As previously reported by Dân trí, heavy rain during the morning of May 10, 2025, caused a surge at the project site involved in dredging and reinforcing the Cái Stream section, between Thợ Út Bridge and the Đồng Nai River in Phú Chánh Ward, Tân Uyên City.

After the rain subsided, Mr. V.V.P., the excavator driver, went to inspect his vehicle parked on the canal bank. At 10:15 AM, the project supervisor noticed Mr. P.’s absence and was unable to contact him. Suspecting that he had been swept away, the project team launched a search and alerted local authorities.
