On February 6, the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee announced the leadership restructuring plan for five provincial departments following the merger process to optimize the administrative machinery and enhance state management efficiency. This is a significant step in the local administrative reform agenda.
Merger Process and New Staff Arrangements
According to information from the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee, the mergers aim to streamline the organizational structure, reduce operational costs, and improve coordination between units. Specifically:
1. Department of Agriculture and Environment
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment will merge with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to form the new Department of Agriculture and Environment. Mr. Ho Xuan Hoe, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, has been appointed as the new Director. Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Van Quang, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, will take on the role of Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Organization Commission.

2. Department of Construction
The Department of Transportation and the Department of Construction Quang Tri will merge into the new Department of Construction. Mr. Tran Huu Hung, Director of the Department of Transportation, will serve as the new Director. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, former Director of the Department of Construction, will assume the position of Deputy Director.
3. Department of Finance
The Department of Planning and Investment will merge with the Department of Finance to form the new Department of Finance. Mr. Truong Chi Trung, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, has been appointed as the new Director.
