Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, Head of the Weather Forecasting Department at the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, stated that the period of dampness typically occurs from late February and lasts until April.
These damp periods usually last 3-5 days, sometimes extending to a week. This phenomenon only ends or changes when the Northeast Monsoon arrives.
“The weather phenomenon of dampness will commonly occur in the northern region, particularly in Hanoi, from late February to April each year. During this period, air humidity increases above 85%, accompanied by drizzle and mist, leading to dampness in homes, residential buildings, and essential items,” Mr. Huong noted.
