Mrs. Buu Thi Thanh (69 years old, wife of Mr. Cu), moved, said: “Our old house, built nearly 40 years ago, has deteriorated and is at risk of collapse at any moment. My husband and I could not afford to build a new one. Now, with the government’s support and funding, we can finally build a new home, reducing some of our living difficulties.”
Mr. Nguyen An Hung (55 years old) and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nam (54 years old), from Xa Cat Hung, Phu Cat District, were delighted to receive support for building a new house.
The Hung family is known for their dedication to education. Despite living in a dilapidated house and facing food shortages, they managed to raise three children who all successfully entered university.
Their efforts paid off as their eldest daughter graduated from the University of Economics and Law in Ho Chi Minh City and is now working temporarily there. The second daughter graduated from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology Education. The youngest son, despite suffering from heart disease during high school, is currently in his third year of university.
“The old house, built over 30 years ago, leaks during the rainy season, but my husband and I have endured it, prioritizing our children’s education so they can have stable careers,” Mrs. Nam shared.
According to the plan, in 2025, Binh Dinh Province will support 4,429 households in constructing or repairing homes.

The total budget for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Binh Dinh Province exceeds 215 billion Vietnamese Dong.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan stated that this budget provides basic materials support, and the completion of the houses requires collective effort from the community and other resources.
Mr. Tuan emphasized the need for strict supervision to ensure the quality and compliance with the “3 solid” standards: solid foundation, solid frame, and solid roof.
“Binh Dinh aims to eliminate all temporary and dilapidated houses by the end of 2025. We call on political organizations, businesses, and the public to join hands with the government in supporting poor and near-poor families and policy families with the spirit of ‘helping those in need’ and ‘leaving no one behind,'” said the Chairman.
Secretary Ho Quoc Dung of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee noted that over the past few years, the province’s leadership has prioritized social welfare alongside economic development, including improving housing conditions for the poor, near-poor, and policy families.

Since 2019, Binh Dinh has initiated a campaign to eradicate temporary and dilapidated houses. Over 5,300 houses have been constructed for poor and near-poor families, and more than 4,000 houses for policy families.
On February 9th, Binh Dinh simultaneously started construction on 382 new houses.
“From now on, all localities should prioritize eradicating temporary and dilapidated houses to improve the lives of poor, near-poor, and policy families. This meaningful and practical initiative also marks the 50th anniversary of Binh Dinh’s liberation, prepares for the upcoming Party Congresses, and honors the contributions of policy families…” Secretary Dung instructed.
