NSƯT Thu Hà: Mở quán bún đậu, phải… "trốn" vì người hâm mộ đến chụp hình

A chilly afternoon in Hanoi, the reporter had the opportunity to meet Artist Thu Ha at her bun and tofu restaurant on Hong Mai Street—a place filled with the aroma of traditional dishes and the laughter of customers.

Famous for her sharp and bold roles, Artist Thu Ha surprises fans with her gentle and approachable nature in real life.

The Contrast Between Stage and Everyday Life

When it comes to Artist Thu Ha, many Vietnamese audiences remember her sharp and distinctive performances in films set in Northern Vietnam’s countryside. However, few know that off-stage, she is a gentle and simple woman who deeply appreciates traditional cultural values.

Opening her bun and tofu restaurant in Hanoi, Thu Ha’s greatest joy lies not only in serving delicious food but also in meeting and chatting with her fans. She shares, “Everyone is surprised when they see how gentle I am in real life. They ask why I’m so different from my characters on screen—so tough on film but so kind in reality.”

The artist often recounts how many young people visit her restaurant through social media and affectionately call her “U.” Once, a young man from near Noi Bai Airport patiently waited all day just to meet her. When asked, he emotionally said, “U, I’ve been waiting for days to finally meet you!”

Nevertheless, her presence can sometimes cause discomfort. There was an instance where she had to “hide” at a nearby tea shop to avoid disturbing other customers.

Fans frequently visit the restaurant to enjoy the food and take pictures with Artist Thu Ha.

Joy from Acting and Love for Art

While committed to her business, Artist Thu Ha remains passionate about her art. She says, “Art is my life; I miss it if I don’t perform!”

Starting her career in traditional opera, Artist Thu Ha was guided by Artist NSND Huong Dung into television acting. Films like Huong Dat, Lang Ven Do, and Chung Cu Vui Ve established her reputation. Each role brought memorable experiences, especially those of the sharp and sassy rural women of Northern Vietnam.

“Acting naturally is truly challenging,” she shared. Despite limiting her roles due to health reasons, Artist Thu Ha continues to contribute to the arts through suitable performances filmed in Hanoi.

Artist Thu Ha credits her family as her biggest support in her artistic journey.

The Bun and Tofu Restaurant – A Meeting Place for Fans

Artist Thu Ha’s restaurant is open from 9 AM to 3 PM daily, attracting around 150-200 customers each day. Besides the main dish of bun and tofu, the restaurant is famous for its renowned braised dog meat.

Anh Quoc Quan (43 years old, Hanoi) shares, “My house is nearby, and I used to eat at her old restaurant by Quynh Pagoda. After waiting for it to reopen, I visit regularly, about 3-4 times a month.”

Quang Thanh, a 20-year-old, humorously said, “A friend recommended this place and told me I could meet the actress from Lang E Vo. After eating, I plan to ask for a photo with Artist Ha to show my parents!”

Artist Thu Ha’s restaurant attracts customers not only with its delicious food but also with its clean environment and reasonable prices.
