On the fourth day of Tet, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính conducted an important inspection at component project 1A of HCMC Ring Road 3, specifically the Tan Van – Nhon Trach section. This event marked a significant milestone in the development of key infrastructure in the southern region.

Outstanding Progress of Component Project 1A

According to Mr. Trần Văn Thi, Director of the My Thuan Project Management Board, component project 1A has reached 85% of total work volume. This segment is the fastest progressing part of the entire Ring Road 3 project.

The project management board commits to completing and opening the bridge before April 30, four months ahead of the initial schedule. Once finished, the bridge will connect the entire route from Nhon Trach Bridge to Tan Van interchange, creating a new arterial road for the area.

Strategic Significance of Ring Road 3

The Prime Minister highly praised the construction units’ efforts and emphasized the project’s importance in celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification. Specifically, the road will contribute to:

  • Reducing traffic pressure within HCMC
  • Enhancing regional connectivity between HCMC and provinces in the East and Southwest regions
  • Diverting traffic away from the city center
  • Saving time and transportation costs for goods

Infrastructure Development Directions

In addition to promoting the completion of Ring Road 3, the Prime Minister also urged the acceleration of other connecting projects, particularly those leading to Long Thanh Airport. The total investment for component project 1A amounts to 6.9 trillion VND, with nearly 4.176 trillion VND coming from Korean ODA.

Conclusion

The completion of Ring Road 3 not only has significant implications for transportation but also plays a crucial role in the socio-economic development of the Southern Key Economic Zone. Local authorities must collaborate closely to ensure the project stays on schedule, delivering the infrastructure as planned to meet the travel and economic development needs of the people.
