“The price adjustment does not solely reflect low demand for the product but is seen as a move to stimulate demand during the year-end period. This reduction significantly improves sales and expands the potential customer base,” stated Ms. Dang Linh Phuong, Samsung Category Director at Di Dong Viet.
When product prices drop significantly, customers can access the device more easily. However, this strategy also sparks mixed opinions, as the price reduction affects early adopters.
The device depreciates by nearly ten million VND just a few months after hitting the shelves. If these customers wish to resell the product in the secondary market, they will incur greater losses.
Furthermore, a deep discount strategy can impact brand positioning. The “depreciation” stereotype may alter user purchasing behavior. Customers might develop a tendency to wait for products to drop in price before buying, rather than acquiring them early on.
According to retailers, sales of the Galaxy Z Fold7 product line have seen significant growth compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold6.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is currently Samsung’s thinnest and lightest foldable smartphone. The device measures 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when unfolded, with a weight of 215g.
The screen has also been significantly expanded with a 6.5-inch outer display and an 8-inch inner display. The phone is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip, offering 38% stronger performance, 26% faster graphics processing, and 41% more powerful AI tasks.
