Mr. Thien, a passenger on the bus, said he and his family were on their way from Quang Ngai to Lam Dong for work after the Tet holiday. At the time of the accident, he was holding his 3-year-old daughter on the lower berth, while his wife was on the upper berth. Mr. Thien recounted hearing a loud crash and seeing people from the upper tier fall on top of him. His wife was thrown out and hit the window, leading to her death.

Investigation and Rescue Efforts
Mr. Nguyen Tan Chan, Deputy Director of Phu Yen Provincial Department of Transportation, stated that at the time of the accident, there were approximately 35 people on the bus, including some children. The injured were transported to Binh Dinh General Hospital for treatment. Authorities were present at the scene to rescue victims and manage traffic flow.
By 5:30 AM on the same day, the bus had been towed away from the accident scene, clearing the road and ensuring safety for other vehicles.
