“Loop Disease” refers to a hardware defect that caused audio problems on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. This issue resulted in poor sound quality, loss of sound during FaceTime calls, and non-functional microphones.

The cause is attributed to a design flaw that made devices prone to failure over time. To date, it remains unclear how many devices were affected by this problem.

In 2019, Apple faced numerous lawsuits across several U.S. states regarding this issue. The claims alleged that the company had violated consumer protection laws and warranty policies.

By 2023, Apple agreed to pay $35 million to settle the lawsuits. However, the company denied any wrongdoing.

Reports from 9to5mac indicate that many users received compensation amounts ranging from $200 to $349.

This is not the first time Apple has compensated users for technical issues with its products. Last year, the company also paid similar compensation to users affected by butterfly keyboard defects on certain MacBook models.
