Billionaire Infrastructure Projects Inaugurated in Bình Định

Two major infrastructure projects, totaling billions of dollars, were inaugurated in Bình Định province, promising new development opportunities for the region. The first project is a highway connecting National Highway 19 to the Becamex VSIP Bình Định industrial park, while the second is a flood drainage system for Quy Nhơn city.

Highway Connecting National Highway 19 to Becamex VSIP Bình Định Industrial Park: Ahead of Schedule, Enhancing Trade Connectivity

The highway connecting National Highway 19 to the Becamex VSIP Bình Định industrial park spans nearly 19.5 kilometers, traversing An Nhơn city and Tây Sơn and Vân Canh districts. The project, with a total investment of nearly 1.2 billion USD, was completed in almost two years, five months ahead of schedule.

This strategic transportation artery connects National Highways 19 and 19C, and other regional roads, opening up new development possibilities. The highway facilitates worker access to the industrial park and boosts trade with the Tây Nguyên region and Quy Nhơn Port. Its completion is the final piece of the puzzle in completing the western Bình Định highway (ĐT 638), linking Chương Hòa to Long Vân and Quy Nhơn city.

Sông Dinh Flood Drainage System: Mitigating Flood Risks, Revitalizing the River

The Sông Dinh flood drainage system project in Nhơn Bình and Nhơn Phú wards, Quy Nhơn city, has a total investment of over 602 billion VND. Construction costs amount to 316 billion VND from the provincial budget, and 286 billion VND from the Quy Nhơn city budget. The project, initiated in March 2022, was completed in December 2024, 7 months ahead of schedule.

The project significantly reduces the risk of floods in urban areas surrounding Quy Nhơn city center, benefiting tens of thousands of residents. It also incorporates urban redevelopment, improved traffic connectivity, and environmental improvements.

Significance and Future Development Prospects

These two projects not only directly benefit local residents but also significantly contribute to Bình Định’s socio-economic development. The new highway will facilitate transportation, trade, and investment. The flood drainage system protects urban areas from flooding, improving residents’ quality of life.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Chí Dũng highly praised the significance of the projects, requiring Bình Định province to manage and utilize them effectively to create an economic corridor based on the transportation corridor. The improved transportation and drainage infrastructure will create a favorable environment for socio-economic development and enhance the quality of life for residents of Bình Định in the coming years.
