Border Trade at Bac Luan II Gate Booms Again After Tet Holiday

On January 31 (the third day of the Lunar New Year), border trade activities at Bac Luan II Bridge Gate in Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh Province, resumed after a two-day break for the Tet holiday. This event marks a promising start for the year 2025.


The first day of the year saw over 750 tons of goods exported through Bac Luan II Gate.

A Promising Start with Large Volumes of Goods

On the first day back after the Tet holiday, Bac Luan II Gate received participation from 22 businesses with 113 customs declarations and 112 export trucks. The main commodities included fresh seafood and agricultural products, transported to the Chinese market.

According to statistics, the total volume of exports reached 752 tons, including 368 tons of seafood and 384 tons of agricultural products. The total export value exceeded $9.3 million, five times higher than the same period in 2024. This is an encouraging signal reflecting the robust development of the import-export industry in the northern border region.

Supportive Measures from Authorities

To ensure smooth operations right from the beginning of the year, the Bac Luan International Border Gate Management Board and functional forces from Quang Ninh Province implemented several measures to expedite administrative procedures. Early in the morning, leaders from Mong Cai City visited, encouraged, and gave lucky money to businesses, drivers, and staff at the gate.


Local authorities sent New Year wishes and encouraged units involved in import-export activities.

This timely support not only provided favorable conditions for businesses but also demonstrated the commitment of local authorities to promoting cross-border trade.

Positive Prospects for 2025

With promising results from the first day of the year, the Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Customs is confident that 2025 will be a breakthrough year for import-export activities. The target is to achieve a state budget revenue of over 17.8 trillion VND from import-export activities within the province.
