On April 12th, according to Dân Trí, the Ca Mau People’s Committee decided to establish an inspection team to examine the collection, management, and use of recreational fishing service fees at U Minh Hạ National Park during 2023-2024.
The inspection team is headed by inspectors from the Ca Mau Provincial Inspectorate.

Previously, some news outlets reported irregularities in the issuance and use of fishing permits at U Minh Hạ National Park.
The park reportedly printed thousands of paper fishing permits, each priced at 300,000 VND, and collected hundreds of millions of VND in revenue.
The Ca Mau People’s Committee requested a report from U Minh Hạ National Park, but inconsistencies in the information were discovered. Therefore, the committee decided to establish an inspection team to clarify all related issues.
Ca Mau People’s Committee leaders have instructed the inspection team to work expeditiously, rigorously, objectively, and to submit a report on the findings as soon as possible.
