On February 6th, the Can Tho City Party Committee organized a conference to announce important decisions regarding the organizational structure and cadre management of affiliated party agencies and organizations under the Can Tho City Party Committee. This event marked a significant step forward in modernizing the political system at the local level.

Decisions on Organizational Structure and Cadre Management
At the meeting, Mr. Lê Tấn Thủ, Head of the Organization Department of the Can Tho City Party Committee, announced several decisions aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the political machinery. The Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee decided:
- Establishment of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee: Mr. Nguyễn Ngọc Tâm, Head of the Propaganda Department, was appointed as Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee.
- Appointment of 6 Deputy Heads: These individuals, with their capabilities and experience, will contribute to the city’s development.
- Disbandment of Party Committees and Ban Cán Sự Parties: The party committees of the People’s Organizations and the city’s business sector will cease operations to facilitate the restructuring process.
Establishment of New Party Committees
The Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee also decided to establish two new party committees:
- Party Committee of Affiliated Party Agencies under the Can Tho City Party Committee: Comprising 26 grassroots party organizations and 735 party members. Mr. Phạm Văn Hiểu, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council, will serve as Secretary of the Party Committee.
- Party Committee of Can Tho City People’s Committee: Comprising 68 grassroots party organizations and 6,992 party members. The Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee will serve as Secretary of the Party Committee.

Remarks by the Secretary of the City Party Committee
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Đỗ Thanh Bình, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, emphasized that this was “a meaningful event reflecting a resolute and urgent spirit.” He affirmed that the city has completed the restructuring of the organizational structure of party agencies according to the Central Committee’s requirements.
“The announcement of these decisions today marks a historic turning point in the process of modernizing the organizational structure and political system of the city,” Mr. Bình said.
The Secretary of the City Party Committee also recognized and commended the self-sacrifice of many cadres and civil servants for the common good, facilitating the reorganization and streamlining of the machinery. He urged the Party Committee of the People’s Committee to promptly direct the restructuring of administrative structures and public institutions to ensure completion and commence operations of the new machinery by the end of February.
