To mark the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2025) and the traditional Tet holiday in the Year of the Dragon 2025, the Government organized an intimate gathering with the theme “Celebrate Party’s Glory and Tet Year of the Dragon 2025” on the evening of February 3. The event was attended by many high-ranking officials, including General Secretary Tô Lâm, President Lương Cường, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, Chairman of the National Assembly Trần Thanh Mẫn, and former leaders of the Party and State from various eras.
Notable Achievements in 2024
At the gathering, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính delivered a speech highlighting the significant achievements made by the country in 2024. Despite facing numerous challenges and difficulties, under the leadership of the Central Committee, Politburo, and Secretariat of the Party, as well as the contributions of the entire people, the economy and society recovered positively across most sectors. Notably, Vietnam not only met but exceeded all 15 key targets, recording 12 bright spots in various areas of work.

The Prime Minister expressed deep gratitude to General Secretary Tô Lâm, other leaders and former leaders of the Party and State, as well as the people and business community. He emphasized that unity and collective effort had yielded positive results, laying a solid foundation for development goals in 2025.
Development Goals for 2025
2025 is a crucial year marking the final year of the 2021-2025 Five-Year Plan, and it also sets the stage for upcoming Party Congresses leading up to the 14th National Congress. Accordingly, the Government has set the guiding principle for action as “Discipline and Responsibility; Proactive and Timely; Lean and Efficient; Acceleration and Breakthrough.” One of the major goals is to achieve at least an 8% GDP growth rate, striving for double-digit growth if conditions permit.
Additionally, the Government will focus on implementing Resolution 57 of the Politburo regarding science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, as well as continuing to reorganize and streamline the organizational structure to enhance efficiency. These strategic steps aim to propel the nation into a new era of development where people can enjoy prosperous, happy, and thriving lives.
Gratitude and Commitment to Development
In his speech, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính expressed deep gratitude to past generations of leaders and members of the government. He emphasized that the invaluable legacy left by previous generations would be inherited, further developed, and innovated. The Government commits to continuous efforts to fulfill its role as the highest executive body, directly managing and implementing Party policies to bring tangible benefits to the people.
