According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, cold air has affected most areas in the Red River Delta and North Central regions.
By night on February 7th, the cold air will continue to impact the Mid-Central region and some parts of South Central Vietnam.
Meteorologists predict that on February 8th, the Red River Delta region will experience severe cold, while the North Central region will turn colder. From Quang Binh to Hue, temperatures will drop significantly, with some places experiencing severe cold.
During this cold front, the lowest temperatures in the Red River Delta region will generally be 9-12°C, with mountainous areas reaching 5-8°C, and high mountain areas dropping below 3°C. In the North Central region, temperatures will generally range from 11-14°C, while in the Quang Binh-Hue region, they will be 14-16°C, according to meteorologists.
In Hanoi, the next two days will see severe cold, with temperatures dropping to 10-12°C.
The forecast suggests that the widespread severe cold in the Red River Delta and North Central regions may last until February 10th.
Additionally, due to the strengthening of the cold front combined with a jet stream in the upper westerly wind belt, there will be rain in the Red River Delta and Thanh Hoa-Nghệ An regions from tonight until morning on February 8th. From tonight until February 9th, there will be rain, showers, and thunderstorms in the Ha Tinh-Khanh Hoa region, with some areas experiencing heavy rain.
There is a possibility of snow and freezing conditions in the high mountains of the Red River Delta over the weekend.
