Utilizing Post-Tet Decorative Orange Trees

According to the leaders of the Son Tra District People’s Committee, decorative orange trees have become an indispensable symbol during Tet, bringing beauty and a warm spring atmosphere to families. However, after Tet, many of these trees are discarded, leading to waste and negative impacts on the environment. The campaign aims to address this issue by collecting the trees.

The Son Tra District will collect decorative orange trees that still have the potential to grow from families, offices, and units within the district. These trees will be cared for and reused to plant in public gardens, helping to create more green spaces and improve the living environment.

Implementation Plan

After collecting enough trees, the Son Tra District will collaborate with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Ward People’s Committees, and Urban and Environmental Enterprises to select suitable planting locations. The goal is to maximize available resources while raising community awareness about environmental protection.

The Tradition of Decorating with Orange Trees During Tet

In Central Vietnam, particularly in Da Nang and Hoi An, decorating with orange trees laden with fruit has become a common practice during Tet. Every year, local orange tree nurseries supply thousands of potted trees to the market to meet the demand for decoration and to create a festive atmosphere for families.

Benefits of the Program

The campaign not only helps to utilize existing resources but also contributes to reducing waste and protecting the environment. Additionally, planting trees in public areas will create more green spaces, improving air quality and enhancing community life.

Conclusion

The decorative orange tree donation program in Son Tra District is a practical initiative that brings multiple benefits to the environment and the community. We hope that the program will receive positive support from families and organizations in the area, contributing to making Da Nang greener, cleaner, and more beautiful.
