Theo thông tin từ Phòng Cảnh sát Giao thông (CSGT) Công an tỉnh Tiền Giang, vào khoảng 7:45 sáng cùng ngày, chị H.T.T. (sinh năm 1990, trú tại Trà Vinh) điều khiển xe máy lưu thông theo hướng từ Tiền Giang đi Bến Tre. Khi đến đoạn giữa cầu Rach Mieu, xe của chị bất ngờ tông trực diện vào một xe khách đang di chuyển ngược chiều.

The severe collision caused Ms. T. to die instantly. The incident occurred at a time when traffic on Rach Mieu Bridge was already surging due to the approaching Tet holiday, leading to prolonged congestion.
Traffic Congestion Situation
Due to the accident’s location in the middle of Rach Mieu Bridge—one of the key routes connecting the Mekong Delta provinces with Ho Chi Minh City—and the timing close to Tet, many people returning home for the holiday exacerbated the chaos, causing significant traffic jams.

Upon receiving the report, traffic police from both provinces of Tien Giang and Ben Tre quickly arrived at the scene to handle the situation and manage traffic flow. Cars were instructed not to travel on National Highway 60 towards the temporary Rach Mieu ferry, while motorcycles were allowed to continue crossing the bridge.
By over 11 AM, the traffic jam was finally resolved, and traffic on Rach Mieu Bridge gradually returned to normal.
