On January 16, the Hai Phong City Trade Union Federation, in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Hai Phong City, organized a Tet gift-giving program themed “Family Reunion Tet – Spring of Gratitude,” aimed at distributing gifts to workers, laborers, policy families, and near-poor households in the locality.

In the festive spirit of the new spring, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son extended New Year greetings to all cadres, civil servants, employees, workers, and residents in Hai Phong. He expressed his wish for every family to have a joyful, warm, prosperous, and thriving Tet.
Hai Phong: A Shining Example of Economic and Social Development
Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of Hai Phong’s authorities and units in improving the livelihoods of citizens and workers. These efforts are crucial in driving the city’s remarkable development and that of the nation.
Despite facing many challenges in 2024, Hai Phong achieved significant accomplishments, particularly maintaining double-digit economic growth for ten consecutive years—leading the country. This highlights Hai Phong’s pioneering role in the national process of industrialization and modernization.
“The international outreach of Vietnam is expanding, attracting numerous foreign investors. Among them, Hai Phong stands out as an attractive destination due to its favorable investment environment and sustainable development potential,” emphasized Deputy Prime Minister.

Hope for Comprehensive Development in Hai Phong
On behalf of the government, Deputy Prime Minister expressed hope that Hai Phong will continue to uphold its leading role in the economy, becoming a key growth center in the Red River Delta region and nationwide. He particularly believes that 2025 will be a breakthrough year for Hai Phong to achieve the goals set by the 2020-2025 Hai Phong Party Congress.
He also highlighted the importance of ensuring social welfare and improving both the material and spiritual lives of the people. “Hai Phong needs to continue effectively implementing programs to care for the livelihoods of its citizens, ensuring no one is left behind,” Deputy Prime Minister noted.
Distributing Tet Gifts, Sharing Joy
On this occasion, the central delegation distributed 245 Tet gift baskets to policy families, those with meritorious service, struggling workers, and near-poor households in Hai Phong. More than 100 gifts were handed out directly at the “Family Reunion Tet – Spring of Gratitude” event.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs supported the People’s Committee of Bach Long Vi District with 1.2 billion VND to care for local residents during Tet. Additionally, the Hai Phong City Trade Union Federation organized a raffle with prizes totaling 3 billion VND, creating a cheerful and enthusiastic atmosphere for workers.
