On the morning of February 15, a solemn military enlistment ceremony was held at the 8/5 Square (Moc Chau Town, Son La Province). The event took place in a dignified atmosphere, marking the sacred moment when new recruits officially embarked on their mission to protect the nation.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, along with leaders from Military Region 2 Command, representatives from provincial departments, sectors, local authorities, and a large number of local residents.
This year, Moc Chau proudly sent off 162 recruits. Among them, 120 citizens joined the military service, while 42 others were enlisted in the public security forces. These young individuals are considered outstanding, carrying passion and responsibility for the mission of defending the country.
Early in the morning, crowds of ethnic minority families and relatives of the recruits gathered at the 8/5 Square, eagerly awaiting the enlistment ceremony. Their eyes, filled with affection and pride, focused on the young soldiers.
Deputy Minister Vu Hai San personally met the recruits on the field, warmly shaking hands with each one, presenting meaningful gifts, and offering sincere encouragement. He urged the young soldiers to remain steadfast as they began their noble duty to the nation.
Local authorities and department leaders also expressed their trust that the recruits would uphold the heroic traditions of their homeland, strive for self-improvement, maintain discipline, and fulfill their duties with distinction, living up to the hopes of the Party, government, people, and their families.
The recruits, dressed in military green, marched through the ceremonial gate with pride, turning back to wave goodbye to their loved ones.
From afar, family members watched every step of the recruits. They raised their hands high, calling out names loudly, trying to convey all their love, encouragement, and pride to their children, siblings, and friends embarking on a challenging new journey.
Tight embraces full of love were exchanged between family members and recruits before they boarded the vehicles. These hugs were not just farewells but also gestures of encouragement, wishes for safety, and confidence in the journey ahead.
“Take care of yourself, stay healthy, and complete your mission successfully. Come back home soon,” a mother’s brief but heartfelt advice to her son.
Relatives tried to hold onto the hands of the young soldiers through the vehicle windows. In their eyes, they conveyed words of advice, love, and expectations for the recruits’ future path.
The recruits will be assigned to various units: Division 316, Provincial Military Command, Provincial Border Guard Command, and Provincial Public Security Department.
Large crowds lined the streets, sending off their children and siblings as they left for military service. The vehicles carrying the young soldiers slowly rolled away from the 8/5 Square, carrying with them the aspirations and dreams of the youth.
