On February 7th, Ms. Đinh Thị Đào, wife of Mr. Trần Thành – the deliveryman who was fatally beaten – reported that her family has received several suspicious calls and messages allegedly seeking to transfer money as aid.
Ms. Đào recounted that a few days prior, she received a call from an unknown person claiming to have mistakenly transferred 10 million VND in support and requested its return. The caller also suggested connecting via Zalo for the refund process.

According to Ms. Đào, the family was warned by local authorities and the police not to follow instructions from strangers to avoid online scams. Therefore, she remained cautious and did not proceed with any transfers.
Mr. Trần Viết Dũng, Mr. Thành’s uncle, stated that upon receiving the call, he asked Mr. Thành’s wife to check their bank account but found no money transferred, leading them to suspect it was a fraudulent call.
The incident involving Mr. Trần Thành, a shipper in Da Nang, who was assaulted and later died after returning home, has sparked widespread public concern. Initial reports suggest the conflict arose from a dispute over package delivery.
Given Mr. Thành’s difficult circumstances, his family has received substantial assistance from donors both within and outside Da Nang.

Mr. Trần Viết Thông, Mr. Thành’s father, mentioned that during this period, they have been visited by many well-wishers and neighbors, including those they had never met before. This support has been a significant source of encouragement for the family.
As previously reported by Dan Tri, the Hòa Vang District Police have charged Trần Văn Minh Toàn, Nguyễn Thanh Tùng, and Trần Hoàng Thiên with intentional injury. Initial investigations indicate the dispute stemmed from a delivery issue between Mr. Thành and another individual.
Mr. Thành was attacked by Toàn, Tùng, and Thiên. When they were interrupted, the attackers stopped. He returned home and went to bed but was later found deceased by his family.
