On May 1st, the Bình Định Provincial Border Guard Command ordered the temporary suspension of all jet ski and passenger boat operations in Nhơn Hải, Quy Nhơn, following a fatal jet ski accident that claimed the life of an 8-year-old child.
“For now, we have instructed the temporary halt of jet ski and passenger boat services in the Nhơn Hải beach area. Authorities are working to determine the cause of the accident,” a spokesperson from the Bình Định Provincial Border Guard Command stated.
Jet ski crashes, killing 8-year-old
The accident occurred around 10:30 AM on the same day, at Hòn Khô beach in Nhơn Hải, Quy Nhơn, when a jet ski lost control, veering sharply onto the shore and striking a group of people. The incident resulted in one fatality and three injuries.
Investigations revealed that the jet ski driver, Mr. L.V.L (37), was a resident of Nhơn Hải, Quy Nhơn. The deceased 8-year-old victim was Đ.P.M.K., and a 14-year-old, Đ.P.K.N., also sustained serious injuries. Both the deceased child and injured teen live in Hà Nội.
