Father Returns Home for Tet: A Heartwarming Story of Family Love

Chồng đi làm xa về nhà ăn Tết, vợ và 3 con gái đợi đến nửa đêm chạy ra đón

Nghe the sound of a car stopping at the gate on the night of January 12, three little daughters joyfully shouted “Daddy!” and rushed out to welcome Mr. Nguyễn Văn Quý (29, from Thanh Hoá). Soon after, his wife, Ms. H’Hâng Niê (28), ran out to open the door for him.

“We were so happy to embrace each other on this day of reunion,” the wife shared emotionally. The children took turns asking their father to carry them and expressed their feelings: “Daddy, we miss you so much.”

Mr. Quý works in the South and usually only returns home every 2-3 months. This time, he arranged his work to come back early for Tet with his wife and children. He called his wife earlier to inform her that he would arrive around 10 PM. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he arrived an hour later than expected. Nevertheless, the three little girls (aged 3, 5, and 7) stayed up late waiting for their father.

When they heard the car, all three quickly ran from their beds to the gate, cheering joyfully as they saw their father. Mr. Quý hugged each of his daughters in turn and gave them toys he brought back from the South. That night, the three sisters fought over who would sleep next to their father. They whispered to him: “Don’t go again, Daddy,” “If you go again, I won’t love you anymore,” “Stay with us forever.”

“Listening to their heartfelt words, I was deeply moved and promised to try harder to visit more often,” Mr. Quý shared.

The Spread of Family Love

After posting a video capturing the moment of welcoming her husband home for Tet on social media, Mrs. H’Hâng Niê was surprised by the overwhelming response from the community. The video was rapidly shared across various online forums, attracting thousands of touching comments.

“My kids are the same. Whenever they hear a car outside the gate, they stop whatever they’re doing and rush out to greet their dad. Hearing their voices makes all my worries disappear,” commented Mạnh Quang.

“The happiest moments in life are when you return home to find your wife and children waiting for you. Family is the most sacred thing, the dream of many people,” wrote user Đặng Ngọc.

Nurturing Family Bonds

Mrs. H’Hâng Niê, an Ede ethnic woman from Đắk Lắk, married Mr. Quý in 2017 and moved to Thanh Hoá. She mentioned that she rarely expressed affection or said “I love you” to her parents during her childhood, so she is determined to teach her children to be comfortable with expressing emotions. Every time they call their father, she instructs them to say “miss you” and “love you.”

“I am truly happy when my children can naturally express their feelings towards their father. I want to strengthen our family bonds, fearing that without this habit, they might grow distant from us. When they are close, they can confide in either me or their father about anything,” the mother shared.

As a daughter-in-law far from her hometown, Mrs. H’Hâng Niê mentioned that their financial situation is not yet stable, so this year they could not return to Đắk Lắk for Tet. Instead, she plans to take the children back to their maternal grandparents’ home during the upcoming summer break.

Preparing for a Year Full of Happiness

In the days leading up to Tet, Mr. Quý’s family decorated their house and prepared for the new year. “I feel incredibly happy and proud of my three ‘treasures.’ Seeing my wife and children makes all my worries vanish,” Mr. Quý shared.

The story of Mr. Quý and Mrs. H’Hâng Niê is not just an example of love and family bonding but also serves as a strong inspiration for many. In the busy modern world, always make time for loved ones—they are the greatest source of motivation to overcome life’s challenges.
