Chaotic Scene and Quick Response

According to reports, the alley leading to the scene was less than 2 meters wide, making it difficult for emergency forces to access the area. Upon discovering the fire, residents of the house and neighboring households quickly evacuated to ensure their safety.

Immediately after receiving the alert, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Force of Ho Chi Minh City Police (PC07) and the District 1 police arrived at the scene. Firefighters laid out approximately 20 meters of hose into the alley while another team climbed onto the adjacent roof to spray water from above and contain the flames.

After about 20 minutes of effort, the fire was completely under control. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Small Area, Significant Property Damage

According to authorities, the burned house had a small area and mainly contained household items. Nonetheless, the fire destroyed most of the property inside.

Notably, during the firefighting efforts, the skilled rescue team from PC07 successfully rescued a woman who was trapped inside the house. She was brought out safely with no serious injuries.

Lessons Learned from the Fire

Fires in urban areas, particularly in narrow alleys like those in Co Giang Ward, pose a high risk of rapid spread due to dense populations and restricted access to the scene.

To minimize risks, residents should enhance their fire prevention awareness, regularly check electrical systems, and equip their homes with fire extinguishers. Additionally, local authorities should strengthen public awareness campaigns and conduct regular drills to effectively respond to emergencies.

Conclusion

Thanks to the swift and professional response of the emergency services, the fire at Alley 42 Tran Ding Xu was promptly controlled, safeguarding the lives and property of the residents. This serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of fire prevention, especially as Tet approaches.
