Mr. Nguyen Quoc Trieu was born on June 22, 1951, in Tinh Xa, Phu Hoa Commune, Luong Tai District, Bac Ninh Province. Throughout his career, he held numerous important positions, including as a Central Committee member of the Communist Party in the 10th term, Head of the Central Committee for Health Protection and Care, Minister of Health in the 12th term, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee in the 13th and 14th terms, and Mayor of Hanoi in the 10th term. Prior to these roles, he served as Director of the Hanoi Department of Health.

Notable Contributions to His Career
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Trieu received numerous prestigious awards from the Party and State, including the First-Class Independence Order, First-Class Labor Order, Second-Class Labor Order, Third-Class Labor Order, Second-Class Resistance Medal against America, Hero of the Dien Bien Phu Citadel Medal, 50-Year Party Member Badge, and many other honors.
During his tenure at the Ministry of Health, he made significant contributions to combating the H1N1 flu pandemic in 2009 and the acute diarrhea outbreak in 2007. His efforts played a crucial role in protecting public health and enhancing the quality of national healthcare.
Funeral and Memorial Service
Due to his advanced age and illness, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Trieu passed away at around 5:00 PM on January 24 in Hanoi, at the age of 74. His funeral will be conducted with high-level honors. The memorial service will begin at 7:00 AM on January 26 at the National Funeral Home, located at No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hanoi.
