General Secretary Meets Chairman of World-Leading Energy Group

On the afternoon of February 14, General Secretary Tô Lâm met with Chey Tae-won, Chairman of SK Group and President of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).

The General Secretary warmly welcomed Chairman Chey Tae-won’s visit and work trip to Vietnam. He also highly appreciated the achievements of SK Group during its investment and business operations in Vietnam thus far.

The Party leader expressed satisfaction with the flourishing Vietnam-South Korea relations across all fields. South Korea remains among the top countries investing in and trading with Vietnam. Building on this foundation, both nations are aiming for a trade turnover of $150 billion by 2030.

The General Secretary also commended SK Group’s plans to implement new projects in Vietnam that align with the country’s socio-economic development orientations.

He urged SK Group to closely collaborate with relevant Vietnamese agencies and localities to expedite project implementation in an efficient and substantive manner.

Mr. Chey Tae-won stated that SK Group is a global leader in the energy sector and expressed interest in cooperating on related projects in Vietnam to contribute to the sustainable development of the nation’s economy.

SK Group aims to partner with Vietnam in developing energy solutions while advancing key industries, such as LNG power infrastructure, AI data centers, hydrogen energy, Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), high-tech agriculture, and logistics.
