A Glorious Revolutionary Journey

Brigadier General Huynh Duc Huong was born in 1922 in Cam Pho Ward, Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province. Since 1936, he joined the Democratic Youth Movement and was soon imprisoned by French colonists in notorious jails such as Cam Pho, Vinh Dien, and Thua Phu. These difficult years further strengthened his resolve and determination in the struggle for independence.

From 1940 to 1947, he played a crucial role in mobilizing youth and workers into the national salvation movement in Da Lat, Binh Thuan, and Hoi An City. Later, he held several leadership positions in the military, including Deputy Director, Director of the Organization Department under the General Political Department; Deputy Political Commissar of the Northwest Military Zone; and Political Commissar and Commander of the volunteer troops helping Laos.
