On February 14, the Hanoi Traffic Police reported that Road Traffic Police Team No. 6 had successfully assisted in rushing a toddler suffering from high fever and seizures to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Specifically, on the afternoon of February 13, Ms. P.P.T. (35 years old, from Thanh Xuan District) received news that her 2-year-old son, N.K.N., was experiencing a high fever accompanied by seizures. She quickly set off with family members to take him to the hospital. However, traffic was heavy during rush hour, and the clinic on Tran Duy Hung Street was closed.

“At that moment, I was overwhelmed and started crying because I didn’t know what to do. Luckily, I saw traffic officers stationed at a nearby checkpoint and immediately asked for their help,” Ms. T. recalled.

Responding to Ms. T.’s plea, two traffic officers managing traffic at the Tran Duy Hung – Hoang Minh Giam intersection used a specialized motorcycle to transport Ms. T. and her child to the hospital.

Major Nguyen Tien Canh, an officer from Road Traffic Police Team No. 6 (Hanoi Traffic Police), who personally drove the mother and child to the hospital, recounted that Ms. T. was sobbing and repeatedly asking for assistance.

“I reassured Ms. T. to stay calm and quickly informed my commanding officer. Then, I took the specialized motorcycle to rush the child to the hospital. Throughout the journey, due to heavy traffic, I continuously used a loudspeaker to request other vehicles to make way,” Major Canh explained.

According to Major Canh, while riding behind him, Ms. T. continued to cry out in pain as her son had bitten her finger during his seizure. This only motivated the officer to speed up toward the hospital.

After bringing Ms. T. and her child to the hospital on Chau Van Liem Street, Major Nguyen Tien Canh promptly returned to his post to continue his duties. “I didn’t even have time to ask their names. I just hoped my efforts were enough to save the child,” Major Canh shared.

According to the police, after her son’s condition stabilized, Ms. T. posted her story on social media to locate the two traffic officers and a man who had helped her. Her post garnered thousands of comments and shares.

Later, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Dung and Major Nguyen Tien Canh were surprised to come across this post. By noon on February 14, the two officers visited the hospital to check on the child.

Reuniting with the two traffic officers who had assisted her, Ms. T. was deeply moved and expressed heartfelt gratitude to them and the leadership of Road Traffic Police Team No. 6.

Ms. T. expressed deep appreciation for the sense of responsibility and dedication displayed by the traffic police in aiding citizens, affirming that such compassion brings immense positivity to life.
