On the afternoon of the 4th day of the Lunar New Year, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conducted an important inspection visit to Sub-project 1A of Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3, specifically the Tan Van – Nhon Trach section. This event marks a significant milestone in the progress of completing critical transportation infrastructure in the Southern region.

Outstanding Progress of Sub-project 1A

According to Mr. Tran Van Thi, Director of My Thuan Project Management Board, Sub-project 1A has now achieved 85% of its total work volume. This section boasts the fastest implementation progress among all segments of Ring Road 3.

The project management board has committed to completing and opening the Nhon Trach Bridge to traffic before April 30th, four months ahead of the original schedule. Once completed, the bridge will connect the entire stretch from Nhon Trach Bridge to the Tan Van interchange, creating a new vital artery for the region.

Strategic Significance of Ring Road 3

The Prime Minister highly praised the efforts of the construction units and emphasized the project’s importance in commemorating 50 years of national reunification. Notably, the route will contribute to:

  • Alleviating traffic congestion within Ho Chi Minh City
  • Creating effective regional connectivity between HCMC and the Eastern and Southwestern provinces
  • Rerouting vehicles from afar, avoiding the city center
  • Saving time and costs for goods transportation

Orientation for Transport Infrastructure Development

In addition to accelerating the completion of Ring Road 3, the Prime Minister also called for expediting the progress of other connecting projects, especially those leading to Long Thanh International Airport. The total investment for Sub-project 1A amounts to 6,900 billion VND, with ODA capital from South Korea accounting for nearly 4,176 billion VND.

Conclusion

The completion of Ring Road 3 is not only significant for transportation but also plays a crucial role in the socio-economic development of the Southern key economic region. Local authorities need to coordinate closely to ensure the proposed schedule is met, bringing the project into operation on time to serve the travel needs and economic development of the people.
