City authorities in Huế are investigating and addressing cases of car drivers stopping in the middle of the road to drop off passengers.
Previously, residents of Huế reported to Hue-S (Huế’s smart urban service) that a driver of a yellow-plate car on Nguyễn Tất Thành Street (National Route 1A), near the Thần Phù Market, P. Thủy Châu, TX Hương Thủy, Huế, had committed traffic violations.

According to the report, on February 3rd, while driving along Nguyễn Tất Thành Street at high speed, the driver suddenly stopped in the middle of the road to drop off a passenger, putting other vehicles at risk.
After receiving the complaint, the Hue-S Smart Urban Service management team forwarded the information to the Huế City Police for investigation. However, reporters from Dan Tri have not yet received feedback from the Traffic Police Department of Huế City.
In addition to this incident, residents of Huế also reported several other traffic violations by drivers of cars and motorcycles, including not wearing helmets, lane invasion, entering prohibited roads, improper parking, and using mobile phones while driving.

Observations by reporters from Dan Tri on Lý Thái Tổ Street, near An Hòa Park, show that motorcyclists often drive against traffic. Lý Thái Tổ Street is divided into two separate lanes: one heading north and the other leading into the city center, separated by An Hòa Park.
Many people choose to drive against traffic to save time rather than following the designated route around the park. Residents living nearby have noted multiple accidents due to this behavior.
Another common violation is motorcyclists standing in the wrong lane while waiting for trains at intersections between railway and road systems.
This behavior is prevalent at intersections on Điện Biên Phủ, Nguyễn Trường Tộ, Trần Phú, and Ngự Bình Streets in Thuận Hóa District, Huế City. Authorities have installed soft barriers to delineate lanes, but many still wait for trains in the wrong positions, causing traffic conflicts and congestion during peak hours.

Leaders of the Huế City Police stated that traffic police have been actively conducting awareness campaigns and enforcing traffic regulations to enhance public understanding of Decree 168. This effort aims to build a culture of traffic safety and law adherence.
Traffic police in Huế City conduct continuous patrols and inspections, focusing on offenses related to speeding, alcohol levels, drug use, overloading, vehicle modifications, and improper overtaking. Those who resist or obstruct officers will face strict penalties according to the law.
According to Huế City Police leaders, from January 1st to February 7th, authorities recorded 4,250 traffic violations, with fines totaling over 13 billion VND, and 2,441 demerit points issued for driver licenses.
