From 8 AM, many children, still connected to IV drips and seated in wheelchairs, were brought down by their families to enjoy artistic performances and circus acts at the “Heartwarming Spring” event held at the National Children’s Hospital. This meaningful activity aims to bring joy and motivation to the young patients undergoing treatment.

Special Art Program
The performance of “Mother’s Dream,” presented by staff from the Oncology Department and children receiving treatment, left a deep impression. It was not only an artistic show but also a message of love and support from caregivers.

Heartwarming Spring Fair
In addition to enjoying the art performances, the children also visited 43 booths at the fair with their families. Here, they received favorite items like toys, candies, sausages, balloons, and participated in activities such as painting statues, fishing games, and coloring.
Mr. Trinh Ngoc Hai, Deputy Director of the National Children’s Hospital, shared: “Apart from medical treatments, psychological care for hospitalized children is very important. This not only provides mental strength but also positively contributes to their recovery process.”
Scale of the Event
The Heartwarming Spring 2025 event featured 43 booths and thousands of Tet gift sets across 23 categories including candies, toys, stuffed animals, socks, hats, milk, etc. Additionally, a children’s play area was set up with activities like sand painting, bead stringing, coloring, fishing games, and electric cars.

Caring for Children During Tet
Mr. Hai added: “Currently, the hospital has 2,000 in-patients and 4,000-5,000 outpatients. Before Tet, we carefully screen the patients, and those stable enough will be allowed to go home for Tet, except for those with severe conditions who must stay in the hospital. During Tet, the hospital maintains full staffing, logistics, and supplies, ensuring adequate resources for treatment.”
The “Heartwarming Spring” program is not just about giving Tet gifts; it also provides an opportunity for children to feel warmth and love from the community. This is a significant source of encouragement, helping them feel more confident on their journey to recovery.
