On February 4, Mr. Tran Van Cuong, Chairman of Trung Son Commune People’s Committee, Gio Linh District (Quang Tri), confirmed that the abandoned baby girl in the locality is currently being cared for and raised by Mr. N.T.M., a resident of An Dong Village, Trung Son Commune. The baby’s health is developing normally and remains stable.
More than ten days after the local authorities issued a notice seeking the baby’s relatives, no one has come forward to claim her. According to plans, within the next few days, the authorities will proceed with registering her birth and completing all necessary legal procedures.

“If any family wishes to adopt her, we will consider it based on current legal regulations and choose the most suitable option. This also depends on the connection between the baby and the adopting family,” Mr. Cuong shared.
Discovery of the Abandoned Baby Girl
According to Dân trí, at around 1 a.m. on January 22, Mr. N.T.M. (a resident of An Dong Village, Trung Son Commune, Gio Linh District) was surprised to hear the sound of a baby crying while sleeping in his house. Upon checking, Mr. M. discovered a pink plastic basket placed outside his gate, containing a newborn baby girl.
The baby, about five days old and weighing over 3kg, was dressed in a blue shirt and carefully wrapped in a blanket along with various items such as diapers, milk boxes, towels, cloth napkins, and clothes. Accompanying these items was a heartfelt note: “Please take my child as your own. I am a student; due to one reckless mistake… The baby girl is healthy, five days old. I’m sorry, my daughter, please forgive me.”
